Noisy Lazarus
Yesterday, the second IDE-channel in my main computer suddenly came back to life again, after having been dead for almost three months. This meant I finally had access to my second hard drive again. The 80 Gigabyte one with all the backups. The one with the Red Hat Linux partition on it.
I do not know what caused the resurrection. Maybe because I had left the computer off for a couple of days, booting it up really came as a kick-start.
I do know I’ll be afraid to turn the thing off now, for a while. And modern computers are a bit noisy.
