Quote of the Day | 0903

The other is called the daydreaming mode. And you know this one, this is where you are sitting on a beach and you are just staring out at the water, your mind is wandering, you are not really controlling the flow of thoughts. In this over-caffeinated age, I think many of us try and keep that mind-wandering mode at bay throughout our work day. We think of that as the enemy to productivity. In fact it’s not, it’s the compliment. We need to get into that mode at regular intervals throughout the day because it effectively hits a reset button in the brain, restoring some of those lost chemicals, restoring some of the depleted glucose, re-contextualising the problem that we are facing at work, whatever problems they are, so that when we come back we may come up with a solution.
